San Salvador

San Salvador - slum in an eastern suburb

Another view of a slum in the eastern part of San Salvador, next to a railroad to Soyapango. Trash (especially plastic bags) fly everywhere and many stay on electric wires. Needless to say that the train trip was safe, because every car was guarded by a soldier from an anti-terrorist unit with a helmet and a machine gun.

More information on FENADESAL is available on a page about railroads of Central America.
