Sambo Creek
Sambo Creek is a fishermen's village to the East of La Ceiba, on the Coast of Honduras (the Caribbean). The most populous ethnic group are the Garifuna - descendants of original Caribbean natives and African slaves, who escaped their masters in the 17 - 18th centuries after shipwrecks. Poverty is visible everywhere, but - given the proximity of the sea - there is also a decent tourist infrastructure (hotels, restaurants, internet).
